Com o tema: “Adeus Batucada”, Carmen Miranda
despede-se de todos nós com um... até sempre. A diva, para sempre viva - nos
filmes, músicas e nas marcas impressas em várias artes e artistas –, deixa
órfãos os muitos objectos que animavam os seus exuberantes turbantes. Sem o
frenesim das suas mãos que falam, sem o riso rasgado e o requebrar contagiante
das suas ancas - frutas, plumas, flores, fitas e contas coloridas, vão ter de
se fazer à estrada. O que acontece quando as luzes da ribalta se apagam?
Laugh, laugh, laugh…

With the music:
"Goodbye Batucada" Carmen Miranda says farewell. The diva that will
live forever - in the movies, music and many other printed influences in
different arts and artists - leaves orphans all objects that animated her lush
turbans. Without the frenzy of her talking hands, her contagious smile and
exotic hip movements, all the fruits, feathers, flowers, ribbons and colored
beads had to move on. What to do when the spotlight is off?
(*) – “I’m Rio singing” in
Portuguese (sou Rio a cantar) as a double meaning. It means that the city of
Rio de Janeiro is singing and, at the same time, that I’m smiling while
singing.
BIO
Jornalista e Actor in progress (nascido a 11 de
Julho, nesta Lisboa que eu amo). Em 1995 licenciou-se em Engenharia Agronómica,
na especialidade de estudos tropicais e subtropicais. Trabalha para televisão,
como jornalista, há 12 anos, e faz teatro em “work in progress”, desde que tem
memória. As paixões não se explicam! Trabalhou no cinema para Manuel de
Oliveira com Catherine Deneuve, uma experiência de vida e para a vida. No
teatro, com Lúcia Sigalho, à procura dos limites em “Sensurround”, da realidade
dos outros em “Realidade Real”, e de tudo e nada em “Procura-se”. Fez locução,
traduções e legendagem. Escreveu para o cartaz do Expresso, sobre teatro e
dança, e assinou crónicas para as revistas Cosmopolitan e Gingko. Gosta de
desafios e, mesmo sabendo que o óptimo é inimigo do bom, não deixa de tentar.
“I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list” de Susan Sontag é a etiqueta
que melhor explica o seu DNA.
Em 2010,
a convite de A Tarumba – Teatro de Marionetas, participa
no workshop “O Actor face ao objecto”, dirigido por Agnès Limbos e, desde
então, mantém colaboração regular com a Companhia. Criou a peça “Oh! Please!” a
convite d’A Tarumba, que estreou no âmbito do FIMFA Lx11.
Luís Hipólito, journalist
and actor in progress (born on the 11th of July, in Lisbon, “the city of my
heart”). In 1995, he graduated in Agronomic Engineering, and specialized in
tropical and subtropical studies. He has been working as television journalist
for 12 years, and ever since he can remember he’s been doing “work in progress”
theatre… Passions cannot be explained! He has worked in cinema for Manoel de
Oliveira with Catherine Deneuve, “a lifetime experience for life and for the
entire life”. In Theatre, he has searched with Lucia Sigalho for the limits in
“Sensurround”, for the others realities in “Realidade Real” and everything and
nothing in “Procura-se”. He has done broadcasting, translating and subtitling.
He has written about music and dance for the newspaper “Expresso” and authored
several Chronicles for the magazines Cosmopolitan and Gingko. He likes
challenges and, even knowing that “The perfection is the enemy of the good”, he
doesn’t stop trying. “I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list” by Susan
Sontag describes perfectly his DNA.
In 2010, he was invited by
A Tarumba - Teatro de Marionetas to attend the Workshop “The actor facing the
object”, directed by Agnès Limbos and, since then, he has been working
regularly with this Company. By invitation of A Tarumba - Teatro de Marionetas
he created the show “Oh! Please!” that premiered in FIMFA Lx11.
